Transgender Dating

Transgender Dating is a very broad term. It includes all variations of the third sex, many people don't like to be labelled into categories. As a rough guide to the whole transgender world we have classified some of the different labels below with brief descriptions:

  • Transsexuals (TS, transexuals) - A person who feels they were born in the wrong body. They live their life as the opposite sex full time. They generally regard themselves as straight. May or may not have SRS (sexual re-assignment surgery).
  • Crossdressers (CD) - Men who dress up in women's clothes usually for sexual reasons. Usually bi-sexual but orientation varies.
  • Transvestites (TV, drag queens) - Usually gay men who dress up as women for the fun of it, often in public.
  • There are plenty of other terms but most fall within the top three categories. The main exception are hermaphrodites who were born with sexual organs of both sexes. This is a rare condition and varies from person to person. The term Tgirl seems to have different means depending on location.

There are two gender labels:

  1. M2F (male to female) - born a man, but lives or dresses as a woman.
  2. F2M (female to male) - born a female, but lives or dresses as a man.
The transgender movement is gathering pace all over the world. People are learning to accept each other and themselves more. LGBT (lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender) or GLBT organizations are growing everywhere. It helps when famous transgender people grab the publics attention for positive reasons like Lea T the model or Cher's F2M son Chaz Bono.

Major cities have yearly Pride marches to celebrate the fact that they are 'out' and proud of it. Some transgenders shy away from this but many are embracing this positive step forwards to universal acceptance.  For more information about LGBT groups just type your city and LGBT into Google and you will likely find a positive bunch of people to connect with. You will find that some very convincing transwomen like to distance themselves from the scene. This can make them harder to find in classifieds sites or in LGBT bars. However they are more likely to have an ad on one of the members only transgender dating sites.

Top, bottom or versatile?
What attracts many men towards the third gender are explicit fantasies. It can be a tricky subject to approach. For example many transwomen find the thought of topping disgusting. Therefore when you make contact online it is best to be upfront and tactful. You don't want to turn them off but at the same time you need to be clear about your expectations. The scene can be quite seedy so no need to be too shy, as trans have generally heard it all before. If you are genuine and open then you will certainly have more success.
